Netflix to Remake 2000 Swedish Film ‘Naken’

Marlon Wayans and Regina Hall are the stars of “Naked,” a remake of the 2000 Swedish film “Naken.”

Netflix is the producer of the romantic comedy based on a script written by Wayans, Cory Koller and Rick Alavarez, reported Deadline. "Naked" would begin production in October in Charleston, South Carolina, for a global premiere on Netflix in 2017.

The movie remake is a reunion of Wayans with his “A Haunted House” and “Fifty Shades of Black” director Michael Tiddes.

Wayans, the latest movie actor to take a film to Netflix, stars in “Naked” as Rob Anderson, who wakes up naked in an elevator on his wedding day. He, Alvarez, Ryan Lewis and Todd Garner are the producers of the movie, while the executive producers are Sean Robins, Michael Flynn and Paul Hanson.

There appears to be two Swedish films titled “Naken.” The first was released in 1995 and the second in 2000.

According to the Swedish Film Institute’s database, "Naken" was directed by Torkel Knutsson and produced by Patrick Rybor. It stars Simon Norrthon, Lars Eriksson and Ann Katrin Bekrens. The first “Naken” is just a short film that runs for 15 minutes.

To go to his wedding, he has to steal and do other things but Anders fails and instead finds his way to his apartment and fell asleep. But when he wakes up, he is inside the elevator again, naked, which makes him realize he is living the same day again.
