The much-anticipated sequel of "The Blair Witch Project" is finally out but critics say it's a rehash of the original movie.

It can be remembered that the iconic film grossed approximately $250,000,000, making it the shaky-cam horror film of all time. In fact, after its first release, many horror based on the film were subsequently made, but to no avail, until Lionsgate took an opportunity to relaunch the film with Adam Winegard and Simon Barret as directors. However, fans think that some things might have went wrong, making it unable to reach the expected outcome of the movie.

Firstly, fans think that the sequel is a rehash of the original film, including its storyline, atmosphere, and over-all theme. And even with the use of a found- footage device and with the events set in a modern-day era, there are still those who are saying that it did not do justice to its predecessor.

Secondly, the movie was accordingly released with a budget roughly reaching $5 million dollars, although this seems favorable to the producers since they can be said to have not lost anything even with its fluctuating profit for its first week. It was even outperformed by other movies released such as "Sully."

Lastly, the marketing and publicity strategy for the movie seems to have failed to hook up the audience too. At the onset of the filming, it was popularized to be a movie titled "The Woods." However, months before it is released, it was announced that it was indeed a sequel to "The Blair Witch Project."

For those who might not have seen "The Blair Witch Project" sequel yet, it is a story revolving around the group of college students who went into Black Hills Forest in Maryland to look for the sister of one of the characters, James. However, upon arriving at the forest, they are confronted with frightening and scary revelations, wherein they realized that the legend of The Blair Witch is not just words in the mouth.

The movie starred James Allen McCume (James Donahue), Callie Hernandez (Lisa), Brandon Scott (Peter), Corbin Reid (Ashley) and many more.
