Samsung's newest flagship phone, Samsung Galaxy S6, has been recently unveiled at the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona. The phone comes in two variants, the regular Galaxy S6 and the upgraded Galaxy S6 Edge.

Unlike most of the smartphone on the market today that sports a plastic body; Samsung decided to raise the bar and designed the S6 with full metal and glass body. Samsung's closest rival Apple already released its iPhone 6 with a metal and glass body as well but the S6 has the stronger and lighter Gorilla Glass 4, according to The Verge. The S6 will be available in three colors; turquoise; black; white and gold.

The S6 is smaller in screen size compared to its predecessor the Galaxy S5. Samsung's newest smartphone is 2.75 inches wide and weighs about 4.8 ounces. Despite the downgrade in its screen size, many tech analysts commend Samsung because this means that the smaller phone is more fitting for one-hand use.

The most surprising of all is the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge which sports a revolutionary screen design that sloped down in both sides. The design is reminiscent of the previously released Samsung Note 4 Edge. Additionally, the two devices share many features like the alarm clock and news feed even if the phone's main screen is turned off.

The S6 has a very sharp display and features vibrant colors. The 5.1 inch screen has a display resolution of 2560 x 1440 and has a pixel density of 577ppi. The home button below the screen works as a fingerprint sensor and will launch the camera after tapping it twice. The phone still retains the IR sensor that enables the heart-rate monitor function.

The Galaxy S6 will be the first smartphone to use Samsung's own processor, the Exynos 7 chip. Additionally, the phone will still use the default Qualcomm modem. According to PCMag, the new Samsung processor was built using the 14nm process, which in theory will make the processor very fast.

The biggest concern however is the phones battery life. The S6 doesn't have a memory card or a removable battery and Samsung downgraded the phones battery power tp 2550 mAh. According to Samsung, they have devised a new power management in order to balance the phone's limited power supply.
