After food manufacturer giant World Finer Foods recalled their Sylvia's Sizzling Hot Spice due suspected its peanut ingredient, Stop and Shop announced removed the products from its shelves, Boston CBS Local reported.

The ingredient peanut was not listed in the label. Although the product can still be consumed by those who are not allergic to peanuts, it is also much possible for those have to consume it and might put their lives in danger. There are previous deaths reported of allergic reaction to peanuts.

The giant manufacturer also included in the recall is Sylvia's Sizzling Hot Spice, 5.5 oz., UPC 60862300051, with a lot code of 100217. 

As of this writing, Stop and Shop has no reports of allergic reactions whether severe or mild. In addition, Stop and Shop has posted a memorandum regarding the early signs and symptoms allergic reactions for those who has peanut allergy. These are the following hives, flushed skin or rash, tingling or itchy sensation in the mouth, face, tongue, or lip swelling, vomiting and/or diarrhea, abdominal cramps, coughing or wheezing, dizziness and/or lightheadedness, swelling of the throat and vocal cords and difficulty breathing or loss of consciousness.

In a separate report by Pix11, Stop and Shop confirmed that people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. The company added that the symptoms of the food allergies typically appear from within a few minutes to two hours after a person has eaten the food to which he or she is allergic.

Customers who have bought the product are highly recommended to discard any unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to Stop and Shop for a refund.
