The 2016-17 NBA regular season is less than a couple of weeks away but trade rumors cannot seem to leave players such as DeMarcus Cousins and Michael Carter-Williams. The latest speculations have revealed an update on the status of both stars.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive revealed that he does not expect Cousins to be traded. He believes that the 26-year-old has matured and new head coach Dave Joerger will do a great job with the team's superstar.

"I know that Vlade (Divac) and coach (Joerger) will make the right decisions, and I don't know. Right now what I see is I'm excited for what we have," Ranadive said.

Cousins is clearly the Kings' best player for the past several seasons but the team has not achieved anything. "Boogie" has been linked with many trade rumors this offseason including teams such Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics.

The Cavaliers reportedly gauge the value of Cousins this summer with Kevin Love as a possible trade chip. The Nuggets, on the other hand, were linked to the two-time All-Star because of head coach Mike Malone, who is the only coach to have had a connection with the hot-headed center.

Finally, the Celtics has been linked with every superstar since last season as they have a host of tradable young assets and two potential first overall picks courtesy of the Brooklyn Nets. Besides Cousins, the Celtics has been rumored to be targeting stars such as Jimmy Butler, Paul George and Blake Griffin.

On the other hand, Milwaukee Bucks head coach Jason Kidd told Sirius XM Radio in an interview that he is happy with the progress of MCW. The one-time NBA champion player thinks that Carter-Williams will help the team win a lot of games next season.

"We're happy with Michael. He's had a great summer and has worked extremely hard and it showed in the first game in Chicago. He came off the bench and I think he led us in rebounds. He can be one of the best wing defenders in this league," Kidd said, via HoopsHype.

Carter-Williams was reportedly going to Kings in exchange for Ben Clamored. The Bucks are looking for a shooting guard with Khris Middleton possibly out for the season due to torn hamstring. Besides MCW, the Bucks have several trade chips such as Greg Monroe and John Henson.

Nevertheless, these are just rumors at the moment and should be taken with a grain of salt. Check out the video below for Cousins' Top 10 Plays for the 2015-16 NBA season.
