The Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce drama continue to heat up as several other parties speak up about the now separated couple and the family. Among them is Jolie's estranged father, Jon Voight.

It was revealed that Pitt remained close with Jolie's 77-year-old father ever since the couple got together in 2005. Even with the ongoing divorce, the two remain close, with Pitt seeking Voight for advice.

A source told Us Magazine that Pitt told Voight that he loves how "passionate and extreme" Jolie is. Voight, on the other hand, had cautioned Pitt about Jolie's "erratic" behavior, which something similar to her late mother Marcheline Bertrand.

It was further revealed that the 41-year-old "Girl, Interrupted" star is not happy that her father is talking to Pitt.

Jolie first filed for divorce on Sept. 19, and has since been given temporary physical custody of their children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. Pitt was most recently seen with his children earlier in October, which was their first meeting since the divorce filing. The eldest, Maddox, was not in attendance as he chose to stay with Jolie. Pitt has met the kids twice since the filing.

In the meantime, Pitt has not responded to the divorce filing. The 52-year-old "Allied" star is reportedly refraining from answering the divorce in order to protect the children. Pitt fears that putting the legal proceedings in full swing would cause psychological trauma to the children. The actor previously stated that his main focus and concern is the well-being of their kids.

According to People, Jolie asked for sole custody of the children, only granting Pitt visitation rights. There was also no request for child or spousal support. Pitt on the other hand wants to have joint custody of the children.

"Brad thinks Angelina is a great mother," an insider said. "But he is also a great father. There is no way he is going to be absent for any part of his kids' lives."

The insider added that it's likely their issues will be resolved amicably and before they engage in some sort of legal battle.
