Karasuno's Mobbing - After several tries to contain Wakatoshi Ushijima's offensive firepower, Karasuno somehow found a way to slow him down by preventing an open cross-court spike. With Tsukishima setting the timing for the three-man block and Nishinoya getting a hold of himself of Ushiwaka's powerful spikes, Karasuno came through with a total defense against the top-3 ace in the nation.

Dump-Shot Showdown - With Ushiwaka having hard time penetrating that total defense, Shiratorizawa's other players are starting to show their full capabilities. Their setter Kenjiru Shirabu finally showcased what he can do on the court other than tossing balls to their ace player. With the score tied at 23-all in the second set, Shirabu tricked everyone, including his teammates, by dumping the ball over to the other side of the net for the score.

After several exchanges, Kageyama responded with a dump shot of his own to give Karasuno a 25-24 lead and a shot to grab the second set.

Mounting Pressure - Slowly by surely, the other members of the Shiratorizawa's squad are showing up in the game. After Shirabu's wonderful dumpshot, Leon Ohira also made his presence felt in the match by scoring off the block.

Karasuno head coach Keishin Ukai is also feeling the heat, realizing that scoring consecutive points is a lot harder at this stage of the set. Karasuno's unforced errors are also pilling up and that's preventing them from wrapping up the set.

Karasuno Breaks Through - Karasuno and Shiratorizawa traded leads in the critical moments of the match. Hinata was able to help Karasuno offense even more, either as the spiker or a decoy. On the other hand, Shiratorizawa got quality playing time from their backup setter Eita Semi, though Karasuno easily took back the points with another splendid combo attack from Kageyama and Hinata.

In the end, it was Tsuki's ability to read Shiratorizawa attacks that gave Karasuno the second set. Just as when Ushijima starting to gain his second wind in the second set, Tsuki was able to read the play intended for Ushiwaka and block the ace's spike for set-point.
