Oliver Queen might be getting a new love interest on "Arrow" Season 5.
Series star Stephen Amell recently weighed-in on his character's single status in a report from TV Line. Apparently, the actor believes that it is time that Oliver gets back to the dating zone and revive his playboy image. After all, Felicity has already moved on and has jumped into a new relationship.
In a discussion with executive producer Wendy Mericle, the portrayer of the Green Arrow addressed the potential plot lines that still fit his character. Since Oliver was introduced as a billionaire in the pilot, he explained that this arc is no longer possible since he already lost his family fortune.
But when it comes to embracing his character's love for women, Amell explained that Oliver's romantic history - which covers only his relationship with Felicity and a brief fling with Isabel Rochev - does not exactly make him a 'playboy'. That being said, Amell strongly suggests that it is time for Oliver to get back on the dating department soon.
"If you'd like him to be a playboy, then by all means, start writing him like one, and then we can do it," the actor said.
While producers of "Arrow" have yet to comment on this matter, Amell has already set his sights on Oliver's potential new love interest. The actor hints that Oliver will likely hit it off with a familiar character, while also announcing his interest for Susan Williams, the journalist from Coast City who was introduced this season.
"I do think that there will be some exploration of a certain element of romance between the two of them, and I hope that people enjoy it, because I've found it to be really dynamic so far."
"Arrow" Season 5 airs every Wednesday at 8PM on the CW.
