Since the developer version was released on March 9, and continuous improvements were performed, the expectations from the Google phone are quite high. The latest Android operating system was released to the Google's own Nexus devices first and then it will be released to the other competitor's smartphones.

The developer preview of the Android 7.1 went live on October 19 and the version Android 7.1.1 which is meant for the public release is expected to go live in December. However, the company's focus is to promote this OS to the maximum, as only 15% of the existing devices launched by google are running using the previous OS Android Marshmallow released by the tech giant.

The smartphones manufactured by Google use the pure form of Android, IT pro reported . However, other manufacturers who use the Android OS platforms add ''skins'' to the programs to make it compatible with their devices. Hence the large market segment of users who use Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will have to wait till spring 2017 just in case they want to experience the new OS Android 7.1 Nougat.

Another good news for the android lovers is that it will be free to upgrade to this brand new OS. Like iOS and Windows Phone operating systems, now the manufacturers do not charge for OS upgradations, instead, try to increase their market penetration through such measures.
