In her teen years, Patricia Arquette realized that it was all so natural to wear braces in order to have that perfect smile, however, she didn't. She wanted her natural smile to shine even if it means passing the chance to snag a date.

According to People, the Oscar winning actress admitted that when she was in ninth grade, there was a boy who actually elected her as "best looking" in their whole class. He even went on to suggest Arquette to have her teeth fixed so that she can pose for playboy. She answered, "Why would I want to be in Playboy?"

Arquette expressed her amazement over the issue surrounding her teeth, according to Mail Online, saying, "I didn't want to look perfect. I didn't want to have to change myself to be attractive. I don't think that was my responsibility."

In a rather positive note, her pearly-white-not-so-perfect teeth did not prevent her from building a career in show business. She even landed starring roles for "Stigmata" and "Lost Highway." Besides movies, she also has her own TV show "CSI."

At last month's Academy Award, Arquette made the plea for equal pay. She thinks that there is still prejudice when it comes to the work given to men versus women, and people tend to pay more attention to what women look like than men.

The "CSI" star does not get why there is neither aging conversation nor discussions about men and women differences. She pointed out that people should move one and go to the next level of equality.
