[Spoilers Ahead] "Westworld" Season 2 is not yet due to release until 2018 but actor Jimmi Simpson has explained the hurdles and possibilities of bringing his character back. The most complicated issue is that his character's biggest secret was already unveiled in the Season 1 finale.

During the final episode it was revealed that the Man in Black (Ed Harris) and William (Jimmi Simpson) were the same person. Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Simpson noted that young William's story in relation to Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) was complete but this didn't mean he wouldn't return.

"There are certainly stories they could tell," he explained. "Based on these writers' skills, if it was their intention for young William to return, I know that he would be there for solid and interesting reasons. But I think this story is told, the story of William and Dolores' love affair. I think that story, tragically, has been told."

Simpson also confirmed that he was not contracted to reprise his role for Season 2 although the possibility was always there. Ed Harris already confirmed he was returning as the older William aka the Man in Black, TV Line reported.

There are 30 years between the events surrounding young and old William so there is room for the second season to tell more stories. "Westworld" has yet to reveal how William bought out the majority of the shares to own the park and what other adventures he may have had in those three decades.

Season 1 also did not reveal how William became the CEO of their company or how he dealt with Logan after they left the theme park. William's wife has also been teased in photographs but William has never been shown interacting with her.

He also explained that during production of Season 1 he had begun slowing his walk and his speech to better match Harris' portrayal of the older version. More of this slow evolution into the older character may be put into the spotlight if Simpson returns for the second season.
