The first full trailer for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 has been released. Although it is under two minutes the footage showcases several key plot points as well as brief glimpses of some of the new human and Titan characters.

An army of Titans can be seen marching towards the human city and the footage reveals that the enemies have already breached Wall Rose. This is the second outermost perimeter wall protecting the human civilizations.

Several new Titans are then shown in the teaser. A large, hairy Beast Titan is revealed fighting a member of the Survey Corps. During the short action sequence, the Beast Titan throws a horse at the enemy although the outcome of the battle was not shown.

While Titans are primarily enemies, Season 1 did reveal that some humans have the ability to transform into a Titan and can retain a part of their consciousness when they do so. The Season 2 trailer explores this more and showcases a new, smaller Titan that is attacking the wild Titans, biting into their flesh.

English subtitles for the trailer also reveal that the characters have discovered there are Titans fighting other Titans, attempting to keep the wilder ones away from human cities. It is also teased that there are other villages and cities existing outside the main setting from Season 1.

According to Screen Rant, these new elements are already familiar for fans who have been reading the Japanese manga. The manga is several story chapters ahead of the anime and the latter is expected to adapt the story faithfully, as it did with Season 1.

There is also a section in the trailer showcasing Eren, in his Titan form, fighting the more powerful Armored Titan. During this sequence Eren loses a hand and it is uncertain how these injuries will affect him when he returns to his human form.

No official release date has yet been announced for "Attack on Titan" Season 2 but FUNimation did announce an April 2017 launch window, Polygon cited the company as saying. The trailer for Season 2 can be viewed below:
