More proofs continue to show up that Samsung intends to make the Galaxy Note history, painful one at that. Latest reports from South Korea claimed that alongside the Galaxy S8 2017 flagship push, Sammy fans can look forward to an S8 Plus unboxing that will boast of a supersized 6-inch screen profile.

And it goes without saying that the giant GS8 will serve as the sequel to the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7, likely marking the death of the Note brand but with Samsung not abandoning the phablet segment it invented. Forbes said the S8 Plus is likely to touchdown with the 5-inch regular GS8 and both devices will make use of the all-screen or bezel-free design approach.

So the next flagships from Samsung are expected with increased screen-to-body radio, which likely means that "both models could be smaller than its predecessors as far as dimensions go, with the home button either expected to be removed, and the fingerprint reader either placed at the rear side of the smartphone or embedded beneath the display," according to WCCFTech.

Both publications point to Korean blog site Naver as source of their information.

In the same report, the rumors of curved OLED panel as the standard GS8 display has been echoed, indicating that Samsung is doing away with the flat screen purportedly to achieve an all-screen effect on both the regular S8 and the S8 Plus. But the design could prove problematic as analysts express concerns that edged handsets with super-thin build and design are harder to grip on one hand and could lead to accidental drops.

But despite the slim profile of the sequel to the Galaxy S7, the GS8 is said to enjoy longer operating hours as the latest rumors suggested that among the new features to be included with the handset is Beast Mode or increased amount of power juice in a single charge.

The Galaxy S8 is also believed as the first handset to showcase the mighty processing prowess of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 SoC that is touted with 10nanometer FinFET process, which translates to faster and more powerful CPU yet with higher efficiency. SD 835 is also rumored to be paired with 6GB of RAM provision.

Early rumors have indicated that the Galaxy S8 release date will happen ahead of schedule with the intro via the Las Vegas CES 2017 in January or the Barcelona MWC 2017 in February. However, recent reports have indicated Samsung's next Android flagship will not come out until April next year.
