"The Voice" Season 8 (2015) Episode 5 saw the end of blind auditions and beginning of battle rounds. During this episode, the four judges--Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams-were joined by four advisors--Lionel Richie for Team Pharrell, Nick Jonas for Team Christina, Meghan Trainor for Team Blake and Ellie Goulding for Team Adam. For those unfamiliar, during the battle rounds, two artists from same team are pitted against each other. The pair has to perform the same song. The coaches and the advisors together make the judgments. The better performer gets to stay in the team while the other one is either eliminated or stolen by another judge on the panel.

The show kicked off with remaining blind auditions. Nathan Hermida, 17, performed "Sure Thing" and managed to impress Adam and Christina. He eventually chose to be on Team Adam.
Paul Pfau, 26, was next and he sang "Fly Me to the Moon." Pharrell and Blake turned around. However, he chose to be on Team Pharrell.
Next up was Vance Smith. He sang "Reach Out I'll be There." He was recruited on Team Christina.
Caitlin Caporale, 23, sang "Impossible" and got Pharrell and Blake to hit the button. She chose to be on Team Pharrell. She was followed by a montage of performances by artists who did not make it to the next level.
Last blind audition was delivered by Hannah Kirby, 20. She sang The Letter and was recruited on Team Blake.

The first battle was between artists from Team Pharrell. Mia Z was put against Ashley Morgan. The duo sang "Put the Gun Down." While Mia was chosen by Pharrell, Ashley was up for the steal. The remaining three judges pressed the button. However, Mia chose to be on Team Christina.
Next up were artists from Team Adam. Tonya Boyd-Cannon and James McNiece sang "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)." Tonya won the round and James McNiece was sent home.
Brian Johnson and Joshua Davis from Team Blake performed "Kockin on Heaven's Door." Brian advanced to the next round and Joshua was re-recruited on Team Adam.
