"The King Loves" is one step closer to reality with the cast and crew recently got together for their first script reading. Hence, fans are now getting some details about the drama's plot and characters.

On Dec. 21, 2016, director Kim Sang Hyub was joined by lead stars ZE:A's Siwan, Girls' Generation's Yoona and Hong Jong Hyun at the MBC Broadcasting Station to go over the script for the first time, All Kpop reported. The principal script meeting took place for around 4 hours and was held in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

In the midst of the script reading, the ZE:A member shared his honest thoughts about upcoming historical drama. He said, "It won't be easy acting, but I want to try my best to have fun filming. I'll try hard to create a drama set full of laughter."

Siwan, who is best known for his role in the 2014 drama "Misaeng," is up to play Goryeo's Crown Prince, Wang Won, whose great looks and eloquence shroud his barbarous and ambitious nature. He will be joined by "The K2" actress and the "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" actor.

YoonA plays a woman of deadly charm, Eun San, who is the only daughter of the wealthiest man in town. She is the love interest of Wang Woon and Wang Rin (Hong Jong Hyun), the childhood friend, and bodyguard of the crown prince.

Besides Siwan, YoonA, and Hong, "The King Loves" also stars Park Hwan Hee, Oh Min Suk, Jung Bo Suk, Jang Young Nam, Kim Ho Jin, Lee Ki Young, Choi Jong Hwan, Eom Hyo Seop, Choo Soo Hyun, Yoon Jong Hoon and An Se-Ha. It is a fully pre-produced drama and is expected to air on Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) network sometime in March, according to Drama Beans.
