It's nearly confirmed that the LG G6 2017 release date will happen as early as March 10 or likely a month ahead of Samsung's Galaxy S8. Both flagship handsets though are rumored to be unveiled via the MWC 2017 that starts February 26. But LG is making sure that its sequel to the LG G5 will not suffer the same fate as that of the Galaxy Note 7.

This early, in fact, LG is touting that for the upcoming G6 device overheating will not be a problem, which should ensure that the exploding batteries seen last year with the ill-fated Note 7 will not plague the LG G6.

"We will significantly improve the safety and quality of our new flagship smartphones as more consumers seek safe smartphones," LG was reported by the Korea Herald as saying. Starting with the G6, the device maker will utilize heat pipes that are made of copper with the design to disperse internal heat.

The same technology is found on notebook computers and by adopting it, LG is looking to reduce the heat that the G6 will generate by up to 10 percent, the report added.

LG also indicated a reengineering of the internal components placement to mitigate the possibility of heat buildup and eventual device explosion. "The G6's design keeps the parts that heat up most as far apart as possible to stop heat concentrating in one area," Korea Herald said on its report.

And there will be safety tests that according to LG will exceed the international standard. In testing the battery heat exposure of the G6, LG said the heat threshold will be set "to a temperature 15 percent higher than the temperature set by the international standards of the US and Europe."

The LG G6 battery pack will also be subjected to stress and pressure tests with the aim eliminating the possibility of battery explosions once the device is out in the market.

According to Phone Arena, the LG G6 is likely to be previewed in Barcelona, Spain as early as February 26 or at the start of the annual MWC 2017 trade show. If true, the device will be introduced at around the same time with another Android flagship - Samsung's Galaxy S8.

But the same report indicated that the LG G6, which is rumored with a supersized 5.7-inch QHD+ display panel and powered by Snapdragon 835 SoC, will get a release date earlier than that of the Galaxy S8. Rollout time for the LG Android Nougat flagship could be as early as March 10 while Samsung is not expected to out the Galaxy S8 until April 2017.
