Every season, thousands of aspiring singers wait in line for several hours for that one chance to perform for the producers of "The Voice" which will pave the way to perform for the blind auditions in front of the celebrity judges.

"The Voice" is that once-in-a-lifetime kind of opportunity that could open doors to anyone who aspires to take a shot at their dreams of becoming a singer, but it is not easy to get there. According to one of the anonymous responder in Quora, the audition process is similar to the audition process for other shows. It is both exciting and scary at the same time. They have certain steps that you have to carefully follow and since you cannot just show up directly and get in line, here is a list of the series of steps from the official singing competition's website NBC and eligibility requirements to help you get started.

1.       Create an artist account by visiting and signing up at nbcthevoice.com. Then you will receive an artist account number and will be required to confirm your email address. As soon as you are done confirming your email, you can go ahead and customize your profile and register for your audition city.

2.       After creating your artist account, you must proceed to selecting the city you would like to attend for the open call audition and you can choose a schedule of your choice. Make sure to come for the date and time you have registered for.

3.       Print the artist audition pass which you will receive a week before your audition day via email. You can also have it downloaded by accessing your artist account. Bring your audition pass together with a photo ID on your audition day.

4.       Prepare for 2 a capella songs for your open call audition. Although you will only have to perform one song, you just need the second one in case you will be asked. No musical instruments will be allowed, not even a guitar, as this is for the purpose of hearing your voice alone.

5.       Your choice of song can be of any genre, and it is better if it represents who you are as an artist. Come in dressed like an artist too, the one that fits your style, your personality and your sound. The most important thing is that you make you your own.
