"Lucifer" Season 2 just cast God (Timothy Omundson), and he will be first introduced in the series in episode 16.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Omundson will play the role of Lucifer Morningstar's (Tom Ellis) father, God Johnson. The character used to be a patient at a psychiatric ward so Lucifer believes him to be a phony.
However, when he starts telling Lucifer things that he knows about him, the lead character becomes convinced that he could indeed be his father. As of late, Omundson has only been tapped to appear in one episode.
After two more episodes on Monday, Jan. 23 and Jan. 30, "Lucifer" Season 2 will go on a short hiatus and will return with new episodes starting May. 1.
Meanwhile, "Lucifer" Season 2, episode 12, titled "Love Handles," will focus on Lucifer and Chloe (Lauren German) trying to figure out the real status of their relationship.
In episode 11, Chloe decided to make a move at Lucifer by kissing him. Even though he was shocked at first, Lucifer just went with the flow. However, on next Monday's episode, Lucifer will tell his mom (Charlotte) Tricia Helfer about the kiss and inform her that he does not think it is sincere.
Could Charlotte have anything to do with it? She and Chloe had a conversation about Lucifer, and she made it seem as though she wants the latter for her son. It is possible that Charlotte hypnotized Chloe into falling in love with Lucifer so she could trick him to return to Hell.
Also in the episode, Chloe will try to initiate sex with Lucifer. The latter will ask if she is sure about what she is doing, and Chloe will ask Lucifer to keep quiet and focus on the moment.
As of late, it is unclear whether or not Lucifer and Chloe will actually engage in sex. But it is possible that this is just a tease so fans will be hooked to watching the episode. Elsewhere in the episode, Charlotte will have an important conversation with Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris).
"Lucifer" Season 2, episode 12, titled "Love Handles," will air on FOX on Monday, Jan. 23 at 9 p.m. EST.
