HMD Global, the company that owned the Nokia manufacturing brand, has recently denied rumors on its upcoming smartphone to be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 CPU, which was revealed through a Chinese microblogging website.

According to NokiaPowerUser, HMD's communications team has relayed the information on the news portal denying the ownership to the Weibo account, which revealed the claims on the upcoming Snapdragon 835-based Nokia phone. HMD Global furthered that the account is not the official Nokia account but a fake account.

The first leak was initially posted as a reply on a user's query about the rumored Snapdragon 835 smartphone, Indian Express reported. On the Weibo site, Nokia's account replied, "Understood your mood, because the new high-end Snapdragon SoC has just released, please give us some time to prepare, when the time will be made public." Nokia's response on the Snapdragon 835 query was meant to answer the possibility of a smartphone featuring the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC. But now, customers should wait for any further announcement from HMD Global for more updates on processors and smartphones.

On another note, previous leaks on the Snapdragon 835 SoC suggest that the powerful mobile chipset may be expected on Nokia's P1 smartphone.

According to the released leaks, the P1 device will sport a 5.3-inch display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, while its screen resolution may come in either full-HD or QHD display. Powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, the smartphone will be coupled with 6GB of RAM.

On its optics department, the Nokia P1 smartphone will reportedly bring a Zeiss-certified 22.6-megapixel rear camera, while its front camera still bears no information. The IP57-certified P1 device will also house a 3,500mAh battery with support for quick charging.

On its software front, the Nokia P1 smartphone is also expected to run on Android Nougat and there is a fingerprint scanner sitting on the right of the device as well.

Nokia P1 is rumored to have a debut price of around $800 (roughly Rs. 54,500). For the upcoming MWC 2017 event on Barcelona, Nokia has slotted a showcase at the event where Android-based smartphones could be unveiled, including the Nokia P1 and the rumored 18.4-inch display Nokia-based tablet.
