Veteran Game developer Hideo Kojima clarifies that his upcoming game, "Death Stranding," will not have a dark, horror undertone at all. He also explains that he has no more interest in making horror games in the future.

In an interview with IGN during the 2017 RTX Sydney event, Kojima confirmed that he has no desire to ever return in horror franchises. The reason behind it is simple: he gets scared really easily, and he said that since he has a deep understanding of what is scary, he is able to make something actually scary.

Kojima went on to say that the entire process of coming up with horror scenarios often give creators nightmares. His ability to make players truly feel unsettled is unquestioned, and he explains that it is due to the fact that he uses slightly out-of-the-ordinary elements that confuse and unnerve people at first glance.

The idea of being frightened by the unknown is a staple for a good scare, as seen on how the "Silent Hill P.T." was handled. Kojima cited the original "Alien" film as an excellent example of the technique, with the actual Xenomorph unrevealed for the majority of its screen time, making it scarier.

In other news, Kojima thinks that virtual reality will have a huge impact in gaming. In an interview with Glixel, he called it a powerful medium that holds the potential to change not only games but also lives.

The "Death Stranding" creator even went so far as to say that VR is the first time technology deviated from the norm. He described that it departed from making entertainment confined in frames, such as TVs, flyers, billboards, phones, and the like.

He predicts that the medium will influence society in more ways than one, such as education. The introduction of VR could affect even the most mundane aspects of living, like ordering food in restaurants.
