Miley Cyrus's relationship with Patrick Schwarzenegger has touched another milestone. Patrick's mother, Maria Shriver, who never approved the pop star's presence in her son's life, recently had dinner with the couple.
The thaw between Cyrus and Shriver that once existed now seems to be melting. Recently, Cyrus and Patrick went on a date at The Palm restaurant in Los Angeles, where they were joined by Shriver and Patrick's younger brother Chris, Entertainment Tonight reported.
Sources claim that Cyrus, Patrick, Shriver and Chris had a good time and looked like a close-knit happy family. It is quite apparent that Shriver has finally approved Cyrus and accepted her as an integral part of her 21-year-old son's life.
"Maria is a very hard egg to crack," Hollywood Life quoted a source. "But now she sees that the relationship isn't just a passing fad or phase, so she has warmed up quite a bit and is starting to respect Miley as a person."
Cyrus is equally reciprocating her beau's mother kindness. The pop star, who is otherwise known for her edginess and inclination towards nipple pasties, opted for a more covered-up look for the big night. For dinner with the 51-year-old ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the "Wrecking Ball" star chose an all-black tank top and midi-skirt outfit topped off with a mesh sweater. She completed her look with knee length glitter boots and a Saint Laurent bag.
Cyrus met Patrick during Halloween last year and by Christmas, they were declared as a couple. Shriver never appreciated Cyrus' wild ways and wanted them to stay away from each other. At one time, Shriver had reportedly banned the 22-year-old mega star from attending the famous Kennedy family Christmas dinner.
However, Cyrus and Patrick are still going strong. Cyrus recently uploaded a photo shopped image of what seems to be like a picture of their child. Other reports from Hollywood Life are hinting that Cyrus and Patrick are secretly engaged.
