Adele returns with her signature vocals that the fans all know and adore!
The singer and songwriter finally released "Easy on Me" on October 15, five years after her last single. The soul-stirring ballad focuses on her growth over the years.
A week before the release of the song, the singer teased "Easy on Me" with a brief black-and-white video depicting her traveling down the road while pages fly from the car seats. The scenario is featured in the song's accompanying music video, which was also released recently. The artist is shown in the music video driving away from an empty house in her packed car. The video changes to color during the second verse, while Adele continues to sing with the music sheets fluttering with the breeze.
The song serves as the lead single from her forthcoming album, which is anticipated to be titled "30", maintaining her tradition of naming her albums after significant years in her life.
The new release comes on the heels of her divorce from Simon Konecki, with whom she shares her 9-year-old son, Angelo. However, she clarified that she is not currently working on a "divorce" record. The singer stated in an interview that her former husband is the father of her child and not another one of her exes. Adele also said that it was more of her "divorcing herself" and picking herself back up.
The singer described the album's announcement on social media as her "ride or die through the most tumultuous era of my life." "During the time I was writing it, a buddy came over with a bottle of wine and takeout to cheer me up. My knowledgeable buddy who is usually full of sound counsel... The buddy who would stay up all night and simply hold my hand while I sobbed uncontrollably," she wrote.
Adele said in a wide-ranging interview with Vogue recently that she is committed to the upcoming album: "I often tell people that 21 is no longer mine," she told the press. "Everyone else embraced it wholeheartedly. I am not relinquishing this one. This is my collection. I want to share myself with everyone, but I'm not sure I'll ever be able to let go of this one."
Adele's earlier album, "25", was released in 2015 and earned her the 2017 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. She received the same prize for her second album, "21".
