Allergies do not only inflict you, me, and the common people, it seems even the biggest K-pop idols are not immune to them and succumb to really strange ones.
BTS's Jin is allergic to garlic and potatoes
BTS's fans, the ARMY, already know that Jin has some awesome culinary skills, which he has shown on various TV shows, including "Run BTS" the Bangtan Boys' reality show. Earlier in 2021, the singer disclosed all about his allergies to potatoes and garlic. Jin had posted on Weverse in 2019 that he took tests for allergies as he itched everywhere on his body. Shockingly, the doctor diagnosed it as being allergic to garlic and told the singer to cut it down.
Furthermore, on Run BTS episode 125 fans learned that Jin has to stay away from potatoes as well. In a behind-the-scenes clip from the episode, Jin is seen saying that he gave up cooking as a hobby due to this allergy. The singer also added that he is more allergic to potatoes than garlic, because he is still able to eat the latter in little quantities like in Kimchi.
NCT's Jeno is allergic to cats despite owning 3 of them
NCT fans know that Jeno loves cats and has three fur babies, but what will come across as a surprise is that the K-pop star is allergic to them. Jeno's first cat was a rescue from the street and then he went on to adopt two more.
Twice's Jihyo is allergic to pineapple
Jihyo, a member of Twice, cannot relish pineapples as she is allergic to this fruit. Jihyo reportedly once told a fan during a meeting with them that she gets an itchy throat if she has a pineapple. Seems like Jihyo is not the only K-pop artist to be allergic to fruit, Gfriend's SinB has a grape allergy, BTOB's Peniel has a watermelon allergy, and f(x)'s Amber has a mango allergy.
Ex X1 member Kim Woo-Seok has an allergy to contact lens
Kim Woo-Seok, a former member of XI, is allergic to contact lens, which doesn't help matters as he has poor eyesight. The singer has to make use of contact lenses frequently, which results in his eyes getting red and itchy in just a few hours of wearing them. It is the reason Kim Woo-Seok resorts to wearing glasses more often, which is not a bad thing as he voted as one of the K-pop stars who wear glasses the best for Idol Champ 2019.
