Aespa Becomes 5th K-Pop Girl Group To Join 'Half Million Seller' Club With Over 500K copies of album 'Savage' Sold (Photo : SBS Radio/CC BY 3.0)

K-pop girls' group aespa has officially joined the 'Half Million Seller' club, after the sales of their first mini-album "Savage" surpassed 513, 292 copies on October 21, the band's talent agency SM Entertainment has announced.

The group has achieved this feat just 15 days after the initial release of the album on October 5. aespa has now become the fifth and newest member of the "Half Million Seller" club for K-pop girls' bands, joining BLACKPINK, IZ*ONE, TWICE, and Girls' Generation in the coveted club.

"Savage" had debuted at No. 20 on the Billboard Chart on its release, going on to become the week's second best-selling album In the US, sealing the group's global fame. 

Aside from Billboard 200, "Savage" also entered other charts such as the Global Excl. US chart, TasteMaker Albums, World Digital Song Sales, Top Current Album Sales, Top Album Sales, Independent albums, and World Album Charts. The album also did well on various other domestic and international charts.

In fact, before "Savage"'s album release, the girls' band reportedly had over 401,000 album pre-order sales. It became the best-selling debut album of a girl band in just two days of its release after achieving more than 200,000 album sales.

It was also announced recently that "Savage" is 2021's first girl group song to get a perfect all-kill, which includes the Bugs, VIBE, FLO, Genie, Melon, and iCharts, making it another achievement for the girls.

The album contains a total of six tracks, including "Lucid Dream", "Iconic", "Yeppi Yeppi", "I'll Make You Cry", "Aenergy", and "Savage". Recently, the K-pop group also released a second performance stage video for the title track. 

In the video, the four members, Karina, Winter, Ningning, and Giselle are seen performing in a modern setting of black and white with geometric patterns. The video showcases the powerful and crisp dance moves of the quartet. 

Meanwhile, aespa has been announced as the first K-Pop group to attend the upcoming "2021 Asia Artist Awards" on December 2. It will mark the girls' first-ever attendance at the award since debuting. The event will be hosted by Jan Wong Young and Super Junior's Leeteuk and "Squid Game" actor Lee Jung Jae has also confirmed his attendance at the show. The show will be hosted at the KBS Arena virtually.
