Electronic and technology giant Panasonic has recently announced that the company's North American part will be making some of the company's patent software and technologies royalty free for buyers and collaborators.

The aim of the company here it to promote its IoT software in the market and make it popular among the buyers and potential partners. The IoT software allows devices to "talk" to each other and connect to each other with the use of any hardware, just via network. IoT stands for "internet of things", as reported by PCWorld.

Panasonic has opened a non-profit organization to carry out this task, named Open DOF Project, and this organization is open to everyone. The name stands for Open Distributed Object Framework and it is meant to connect devices together when the resources are limited.

Panasonic is also making efforts to strengthen its bond with All Seen Alliance, which is in turn making a lot of effort to promote the IoT software.

This technology is currently present via cloud computing in home monitoring systems, solar energy and in retail applications. Panasonic is planning to widely expand this domain and make IoT available for day to day use and also for common people, not just techno based companies, as per reports by i4u.

The release of such a royalty free technology will make a huge impact on the everyday lives of the people. They will be able to have access to an open source and inter- operable technology and use it for their best interests.
