"The Voice" Season 8 (2015) kicked off its Live Palyoffs round on Monday, April 6, 2015 wherein the  contestants performed live to win the votes of America and impress the four judges-Adam Levine, Pharrell Williams, Blake Shelton and Christina Aguilera. Here is a detailed recap of the first instalment of "The Voice" Season 8 (2015) Live Playoffs. [Spoiler alert!]

During the Live Playoffs, the remaining 20 contestants sing the songs chosen by their coaches before facing the elimination based on America's votes. At the end of every Live Playoff, some contestants are eliminated and the rest of them move on to the next level. This round also features surprise celebrity guests and judges' performances.

"The Voice" Live Playoffs Part 1 featured performances of remaining 10 artists from Team Blake and Team Pharrell. It also featured Season 8's first celebrity guest performance. Maroon 5, the band led by Adam Levine, opened the show with the performance of its single titled "Sugar."

Sarah Potenza from Team Blake took the stage to deliver first Live Playoff performance of "The Voice" Season 8 (2015). She performed "Freebird from Lynard Skynard. She was followed by Caitlin Caporale from Team Pharrell. Caitlin sang "Best Thing I Never Had" by Beyonce.

Next up was a contestant from Team Blake. Hannah Kirby sang "I Feel the Earth Move" by Carole King.  Lowell Oakley from Team Pharrell took the stage next. He performed "Jealous" by Nick Jonas. The show continued with more performances by artists from Team Pharrell.

Mia Z from Team Pharrell performed next. She sang "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers. Koryn Hawthorne from Team Pharrell sang "How Great Thou Art."

Performing next was contestant from Team Blake. Corey Kent White took the stage to perform a rendition of Bob Dylan's song titled "To Make You Feel My Love." Contestants from Team Blake continued to take the stage one after the other. Next up was Brooke Adee from the same team sang "Love Me Like You Do" by Ellie Goulding.

Meghan Linsey sang "Love Runs Out" by One Republic. The last performance of "The Voice" Season 8 (2015) Live Playoffs Part 1 was delivered by Sawyer Fredericks's. He sang "Trouble" by Ray Lamontagne.

The voting lines are now open for the viewers to vote. Based on these votes, "The Voice" Season 8 (2015) will reveal the results of Live Playoffs Part 1 in episode airing Tuesday, April 07, 2015 at 8:00 pm on ABC. Stay tuned for more recaps and spoilers.
