The hype is constantly building in the upcoming villain film "Suicide Squad."  Film helmer David Ayer showcased his team of actors in a photo of their initial script read-through.

"Suicide Squad" director Ayer posted a photo on Twitter. It shows his "Suicide Squad" cast in their first script reading yesterday. Some faces are the confirmed cast months ago and there are some that are new to the casting of the said film.

The cast members in the photo were director Ayer, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adawale Akinnouye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Karen Fukuhara as Plastique (rumored), Jay Hernandez as El Diablo (rumored), Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller. New faces for "Suicide Squad" include Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, and Ike Barinholtz.

Previously, actor Joe Manganiello was said to play Deathstroke; however, it did not push through for an unspecified reason, as per Latino Review. Actor Jim Parrack has worked in 2014's "Fury" together with director Ayer and he will be playing a younger Deathstroke in "Suicide Squad." Deathstroke is the world's deadliest assassin-mercenary an adversary of the Teen Titans. He was part of an experimental super-soldier procdure allowing him to possess extraordinary power, speed, and intellect.

Actor Ike Barinholtz is going to play Dr. Hugo Strange, an adversary of Batman. Born in Chicago, Barinholtz is known for his roles in movies and television shows such as "Eastbound & down" (2009), "The Mindy Project" (2012), and "Neighbors" (2014). His character, Strange, is an intelligent but crazy psychologist-scientist who is obsessed to combat Batman. Strange is also known for discovering Batman's true identity.

Meanwhile, Adam Beach is taking the role of Ravan, a member of the Jihad and a highly skilled terrorist. Beach appeared in movies and television shows such as "Windtakers" (2002), "Flags of Our Fathers" (2006), and "Cowboys and Aliens" (2011). Beach's character, Ravan, is also recognized as a daunting and deadly martial artist as he practices Kali worship. Kali is the death goddess in the Hindu pantheon.

In the photo posted by Ayer, it is also noticeable that previously known cast Raymond Olubowale and Scott Eastwood are not there. They are playing King Shark and Steve Tremor, respectively. It is likely that their roles in the upcoming film are a little minor, a possible reason why they were not required to attend the script reading as per Cinema Blend. Jared Leto, who is playing The Joker, is also absent in the picture and fans speculate that he was the one who shot the photo.

The film is to be produced by Dune Entertainment, with Warner Bros. in charge of its distribution. While the cast members are busy with the script read, fans will have to wait for the trailer.

"Suicide Squad" is slated to premiere in theaters on Aug. 5, 2016.
