The tweet has led to a frenzy of speculations. Media outlets infer that Grillo is hinting at his character's involvement in "Captain America: Civil War." According to Cinema Blend, the actor then retweeted a story by a publication that talked about Crossbones appearance in the third sequel of the franchise. He went on to share a comicbook art that gives a glimpse of Crossbones and Captain America's combat on Instagram.

Crossbones was first seen in "The Winter Soldier" who turned out to be a Hydra agent. Towards the end, the character had an epic fight scene with Falcon, who leaves him battered.

Fans know that the villain did not die. It seems he will return to even the scores with his enemies.

In comic book, Cross Bones is responsible for Captain America's death in the "Civil War" storyline. However, it remains unknown if fans will get to see the comic book adaptation of the villain and if the script will follow the same storyline or not

Previously, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the actor said that "The Winter Soldier" only featured a "taste of what's to come with the next film." He revealed he is excited.

"Captain America: Civil War" would see the return of several Marvel superheroes such as Black Widow, Iron Man and debut of Black Panther and the new Spider-Man. The introduction of government's Superhero Registration act, will disunite the superheroes leading to Civil War. The film is said to be in production stage and it is scheduled to be launched in cinemas on May 6, 2016.
