Manny Pacquiao is known as one of the fiercest offensive fighters of all time, blessed with rare combination of blinding speed, incredible stamina and killer punch. Speaking of killer punch, do you know that taking a solid shot from Pacquiao's left hand could induce fractured bones or worst internal bleeding? It's because Pacman's punch is packed with a force that equals to a shotgun blast.

ESPN Sports Science tried to measure how much force Pacquiao would inflict to his opponent once his trademark left-handed punch landed, and the findings were simply astonishing. According to the data gathered, Pacquiao's punch speed was measured at 0.12 seconds (faster than the blink of an eye) while his punch has a force of 806 pounds (shotgun blast).

Marv Dumon of the Examiner.com gave an idea of how much fatal Pacquiao's punch would be for his foe:

"Such a bone-jarring blow has enough force to cause a concussion, fractured bones, internal bleeding, detached retina--you get the picture. By comparison, Olympic boxers typically punch anywhere between 450 lbs to 1,000 lbs of force, and at a minimum, elite boxers can punch with 750 lbs. of force."

"In Pacquiao's case, his punches are all the more dangerous when you combine his power with speed and stamina. That means it's extremely difficult for opponents to see the Filipino's punches. And Pacquiao's legendary stamina enables him to launch a continuous assault over 12 rounds."

Pacquiao, 36, is currently preparing for the biggest fight of his career as he slugs it out with undefeated pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr, 38, in a bout touted to break all sorts of financial records and determine the best boxer of the era.

Can Pacman bring that shotgun punch to the fight on May 2 at MGM Grand Garden in Las Vegas, Nevada? Perhaps, Pacquiao can still pull it off, a punch so potent that even the best defensive fighter of all time may have a hard time fending off. All of that will be answered on fight night.
