"Grey's Anatomy" fans all had one question in mind upon watching Thursday night's episode of the hit ABC series: Where is Derek?
The episode entitled "One Flight Down" opened with a shocker - a plane crash took place in Seattle and this moment brought back painful memories for some of the doctors working at the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Few seasons back, Meredith Grey's sister, Lexie and Mark Sloan were killed in a plane crash. At that time, Arizona lost her leg as well, according to TV Line.
The plane crash triggered Meredith's negative thoughts that something might have happened to her husband, Derek, Hypable reported.
During last week's episode of "Grey's Anatomy," Derek told Meredith that he will go to a meeting in Washington D.C. and resign from working at the White House.
However, Meredith learned on this week's episode that Derek never made it to that meeting. To make matter worse, he never sent her a text message or gave her a call.
A troubled Meredith couldn't stop herself from checking her phone again and again. At one point, her half-sister Maggie urged her to go home and just wait for updates.
Around 5 p.m., Meredith received a phone call around the same time a police car parked in front of their house.
The series ended with a cliffhanger, but next week's clips teased that Derek was in a car crash. Whether or not he survived from the crash is something audience's need to watch out for next week.
"Grey's Anatomy" airs Thursdays on ABC.
