Kodi Smit-Mcphee has been confirmed as the younger version of the mutant Nightcrawler, along with Lucas Till to reprise his role as Havok. Producer Simon Kinberg also reveals that the addition of mutants in the latest installment is the key to the transformation of the "X-Men" Cinematic Universe.
"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" actor Smit-Mcphee explained his role as Nightcrawler in his interview with Superhero Hype.
The 18-year-old actor said that he did a research on the actors who have portrayed the mutant in cartoons and live-action. He also checked the character's profile in the comics to follow Nightcrawler's profile. For the actor, he is very honored and thankful to be the one portraying the mutant.
With the alter ego Kurt Wagner, Nightcrawler is known to have extraordinary night vision, speed, dexterity, coordination, flexibility, and balance. He is also able to teleport, stick to walls, and blend into shadows.
Till is also to appear in the upcoming "X-Men: Apocalypse" as Havok, as per Superhero Hype. His character will be joining his young version of his brother Cyclops, who is played by "The Tree of Life" actor Tye Sheridan. This will be the first film Havoc and Cyclops will be together.
With the alter ego Alex Summers, Havok is capable of generating powerful plasma blasts and absorbing cosmic energy. He is immune to his brother Cyclops' optic blasts.
Meanwhile, film producer Kinberg revealed that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will leave a mark in the Cinematic Universe just like what "X-Men: Days of Future Past" did, as per IGN.
Kinberg explained that "X-Men: Apocalypse" will conclude in the same manner as "X-Men: Days of Future Past." Also, he said that "Apocalypse" will be "embraced" and "acknowledged by the succeeding films, as each film is formed by one another.
Kinberg has also decided not mention of the forthcoming film will answer a lot of questions from its predecessors. For the film prodcuer, he just "loves" Hugh Jackman play Wolverine.
"X-Men: Apocalypse" stars Smit-Mcphee, Till, Sheridan, Hardy, Olivia Munn, Evan Peters, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, and Halle Berry.
Directed by Singer, Kinberg, Todd Hallowell, Josh MacLaglen, John Ottman, and Lauren Shuler Donner will co-produce the film, with Michael Doughtery, and Dann Harris on board to pen the screenplay.
"X-Men Apocalypse" is set to premiere on May 27, 2016.
