After weeks of fans' speculations, Sony and Marvel have revealed a shortlist of actors to become the next "Spider-Man."
Sony and Marvel are eyeing on five actors as contenders for the role of the web-slinger, as per The Wrap.
Born in Canada, Liam James is one of the candidates to become the next "Spider-Man." The 18-year old actor has appeared in television series such as "Psych" and "The Killing."
Timothée Chalament, 20 years old, is known for "Men, Women & Children," "Interstellar," and "One and Two."
English actor Tim Holland, who is 18 years old, is known for "The Impossible," as. The 2012 tsunami film is said to mark his career in acting.
American actor Nat Wolff, 20 years old, is also part of the shortlist. He is best known for his role as Isaac in "The Fault in Our Stars."
Next in line is Asa Butterfiled. Born in London, the 18-year old actor is the biggest name on the list, per Comic Book. He is known for "Hugo" and "Ender's Game."
It has been confirmed that the actors have no test offers yet; however, those who are aware of the situation have said that they are tough contenders.
The test offers are to be prepared by Sony and will commence next week, with the decision possibly to be known after two to three weeks.
There is also a chance that one of the five actors on the list will not be testing for the longed for role and there are actors whose identities have to be unveiled yet.
"Spider-Man"'s role may be vacant until June, as the web-slinger will be needed on set for the filming of Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War." The friendly superhero is assumed to appear in the said upcoming film.
The forthcoming solo "Spider-Man" film is slated to premiere on July 28, 2017.
