The actor is also known for his roles in films like "Glassland" and "Plastic." His ongoing projects include "Kids in Love," "Brain on Fire," and "The Revenant," in which Poulter impressed the director in showing his more villainous side.

Poulter has also shown the audience his dark side as Gally in Wes Ball's "The Maze Runner," starring Dylan O'Brien as Thomas.

The character Pennywise was played by "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" actor Tim Curry in the 1991 TV miniseries version of the novel.

"It" is an upcoming film adaptation, which is based on Stephen King's 1986 horror novel of the same name. It centers on seven children known as "The Losers Club" and their encounters with life problems, bullies, and a monster that takes the appearance of a clown named Pennywise.

The exact plot details have yet to be announced; however, the story will stick on the children who have to face Pennywise in unity while suppressing their own demons.

It is also unknown at this point if the remake will have a change in its chronological setting, as per Cinema Blend. The film director also teased that though there will be change in names and dates, the movie will remain faithful to the original story.

Along with Poulter, other members of the cast have yet to be announced soon.

"True Detective" film helmer Cary Fukunaga is set to pilot the two-part film adaptation of King's novel. "It" will showcase a duology of films due to the length of the story.

Doug Davison, Seth Grahame-Smith, Davd Katzenberg, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, John Powers Middleton, and Jon Silk are the film producers while Chase Palmer and David Kajganich are on board to co-write the script with Fukunaga.

Since the project is in its early development, "It" has no release date at this point and fans have to wait for further announcement.
