Moto X and Moto G may receive the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update as the software is reportedly in the works.

A Twitter user asks Motorola about the Android 5.1.1 OS for Moto 360. The company's Twitter handle responded, "Performance is not quite there yet. We're working with Google to ensure the software works great on #Moto360. Thanks."

This hinted that Motorola is developing the firmware not only for the smartwatch, but as well as for its line of smartphones. The Moto 360 works on any Android smartphone; thus, an updated version of the operating system is a must.

The latest software will bring new bug fixes and will improve the stability and performance of the devices. Moreover, the new firmware heralds new features such as Guest Mode, which allows multiple users to access the device, but will protect the personal data of the owner. Guest mode users may also save their own apps and messages. The handset will also be equipped with Kids Mode feature that will provide safety to the device, especially to young users, according to Christian Today.

Currently, the first and second generations of Moto X and Moto G recently received the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS in the United States. This means that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS update that fixes the bugs and issues of the Android 5.1. Motorola is currently working on the new version of Android for all its devices.

Meanwhile, Google will unveil the new version Android operating system succeeding Lollipop OS. It is still unknown what will be the dessert name of the new Android M, but it will surely bring new features like improved Android and battery performance as well as Android Pay.
