To honor the National Best Friend Day, U.K.-based website Tombola conducted a survey involving best friends in the subject of cheating.
The survey suggests that it is most likely that people will criticize their best friend's new hairstyle or their weight gain problem than to reveal that their best friend's other half is cheating on them.
Tombola's survey has examined 1,700 friendships across the United Kingdom and it revealed that only 29 percent of people will tell their best friends if the significant other is cheating or playing around with other women.
It also disclosed that 54 percent would only point out a really bad hairstyle, and more of 58 percent concerning the weight of their best friends, Metro News reported. About 30 percent of the respondents said they would react if they had been offended if their best friend had said something bad.
On a lighter note, the survey from Tombola discovered that an average British adult has 3.7 close friends and more than half of the participants said that the parents or sibling are their best friends, especially among the Northerners people.
The study has found out that the best quality people look for in a friendship is loyalty; 78 percent of the participants said that a loyal friend is a must, while 24 percent of them chose generosity as the most important quality of a best friend, according to Arizona Latinos report.
Head of Marketing of Tombola Dawn-Elizabeth Howe stated that their findings revealed just how much people value their friendships from childhood to adult life.
