Speaking to Variety, Al Jean revealed that after 27 years Homer will discover that he is suffering from narcolepsy. This becomes the prime reason of tension between Marge and Homer's marriage leading to their divorce. However, it is not the end of romance for Homer. He finds love once again.

"Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who's voiced by Lena Dunham," Al Jean told the aforementioned publication. Fans can expect to see cameos from other cast members of "Girls" as well.

The EP also talked about some intriguing storylines in Season 27. Lisa will find a friend in a homeless woman, who is also a great singer. The upcoming instalment of "The Simpsons" will also see the return of Spider Pig. Another episode, featuring a storyline based on Hollywood movie "Boyhood" will be a part of the new season. It will delve deeper into Bart's story in the form of flashback and flashforwards.

Fans know that Season 27 will bid goodbye to fan-favourite Bart. The EP revealed the shocking details last week during ATX Festival panel in Austin, Texas. Al Jean said (via Entertainment Weekly) that Sideshow Bob will appear in the next instalment and take his revenge from Bart. He has been planning to kill Bart since last 25 years. However, he will only be able to accomplish the goal on Halloween episode.

"The Simpsons" Season 27 will soon begin its production. It is slated to premiere on Sept, 27, 2015 on Fox.
