Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release will reportedly happen on June 29 alongside the seeding of the Windows 10 to testers.
Although the tech giant has not confirmed the official release date of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 yet, it dropped subtle hints that the tablet-laptop hybrid is coming pretty soon. One of the most common clues that a new device is coming is the price drop of the predecessor.
For months, Microsoft has been slashing the price of Microsoft Surface Pro 3. The company probably wants to maximize the profits. Last week, Microsoft offered up to $150 price cut to the different Intel i5 and i7 variants of the Surface Pro 3 tablets. However, the i3 model did not receive any discount. The entry-level Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is currently priced at $799.
Good news to consumers who want to pick up the i3 model, eBay is offering the said Surface Pro 3 for $649.99. Although unspecified, the deal is available in a limited time.
Aside from great discounts, Surface Pro 3 received several updates to enable new features of the Windows 10. The following are some of the specific updates received by the device, according to Neowin:
1. Surface Pro UEFI update (v3.11.950.0) adds support for new features in Windows 10.
2. Wireless Network Controller and Bluetooth driver update (v15.68.3091.193) improves the system stability and the Wi-Fi connectivity experience, also increases the network download performance.
3. SATA AHCI Controller driver update (v9.4.0.1028) stabilizes deployment methodology on Surface Pro 3
Some of the purported features of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 are: 12-inch screen display with 2K pixel resolution, Intel Skylake processor, stylus, and USB Type-C port. Just like the previous Microsoft Surface Pro 3, the device will sport a keyboard accessory that will transform the device into an ultra-portable laptop. Moreover, the Redmond-based tech giant previously indicated that it would ensure compatibility of accessories like its Type Cover 3 and Docking Station with future generations of the Pro.
However, Microsoft remained tight-lipped on the official Surface Pro 4 release date.
