"The Bachelorette" 2015 fans criticized Kaitlyn Bristowe for sleeping with Nick Viall in the past episode. Chris Harrison was quick to come to her defense saying that having sex is part of the show.
Speaking to E! News, Harrison explained that most "The Bachelorette" fans were not at all disappointed with Bristowe. The host of the ABC reality series added that there were a lot of viewers who expressed their support towards Bristowe following the episode, including comedienne Amy Schumer. He also pointed out that it was actually the bashers who were very active on Twitter.
Harrison also said that was what important for the fans was for Bristowe to remain honest and transparent. He added that the reality star had gained respect from netizens for standing up for herself. The host believed that Bristowe's decision to have sex with Viall even before the fantasy suite should not be considered a mistake. He, however, pointed out that she have hurt the other contestants in the process.
In an interview with People, Bristowe revealed that she was not at all ashamed of sleeping with Viall. She shared that despite receiving several criticisms from "The Bachelorette" viewers she would not have it any other way. She said that people would often judge her without putting themselves in her position. She added that she just got "lost in the moment" and decided to do what feels right.
The reality star, however, admitted that she felt a bit guilty thinking that she had ruined her chance with the other guys. Bristowe revealed that it had been very difficult to compartmentalize one's feelings and juggle relationships at the same time.
