With this year's NFL offseason going into its full trade rumors stage, there are a lot of theories and assumptions coming from just about anywhere from anyone. One of the most recent speculations is the probable trade of Tampa Bay Buccaneers backup quarterback Mike Glennon.

According to ESPN's Matt Williamson, the Buccaneers had been trying to deal Glennon away for two years now but there were no teams willing to give them a counter offer.

However, Williamson suggested that at least three teams, the Cleveland Browns, the Buffalo Bills, and the Houston Texans, are quarterback-needy and could use the 25-year-old signal caller's talents. Glennon is definitely a quality backup and has the potential to be a starter with more training, so the reasons are not known why there aren't any takers.

For Tampa Bay, it really does make sense for them to try and deal the former North Carolina State standout away. The Bucs no. 1 draft pick this year, Jameis Winston, is expected to replace Josh McCown as the starting quarterback after the latter was released by the team last February. Meanwhile, their other backup, Seth Lobato, seems to be more favored by head coach Lovie Smith than Glennon.

But the Buccaneers are reportedly keeping the 6-foot-6, 232-pound play maker for this season as they only have three quarterbacks in their roster as of the moment and there were no other moves to acquire an additional one so far.

Glennon himself said that he wants to stay in Tampa Bay and he is happy where he is, as per the league's official website. He told reporters that he is currently preparing to be the starter, although he is admiring their rookie quarterback Winston.
