New York Giants superstar quarterback Eli Manning is going into the last year of his six-year, $97.5 million contract, or an average of $16.25 million annually, with the team.

Next summer, the Giants can give Manning a franchise tender of about $20 million to keep him on the squad. They could also offer him a long-term extension at about the same amount. The two-time Super Bowl MVP's agent, Tom Condon, is reportedly confident that his client will receive the latter, as per CBS Sports.

"The quarterbacks always get done," Condon said. "And the Giants are not a skittish team. So it's not one of those things where they get nervous or they jump around or anything like that. You know you're going to go in and it's going to get done. I'm sure at the appropriate time it'll happen."

Top-end NFL quarterbacks are normally getting $20 million and above annual salaries these days, and so Condon was positive that Manning will be offered something within the same range.

According to ESPN, there are currently six signal callers earning this kind of amount, namely: Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Ben Roethlisberger of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons, Joe Flacco of the Baltimore Ravens, and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. Manning is evidently more accomplished than most of them and is still effective despite his age.

Aside from Manning's past records of excellence, he was also coming off one of the most statistically productive seasons in his career, passing for 4,410 yards in 601 attempts last season with a very high completion rate of 63.1 percent, his career-high at 34.

It is indeed easy to see why Condon is optimistic about his top client's future.
