With Marvel's "Black Panther" film coming to theaters three years from now, it has been reported that "Selma" director Ava DuVernay has dropped the upcoming film.

In DuVernay's interview with Essence, the "Selma" director said that she is not going to direct the upcoming "Black Panther" due to variations in ideas between her and the studio. The director added that the studio has its unique and grotesque approach in making its films, which is highly appreciated by fans.

While DuVernay's and Marvel's standards in story making did not meet, the director is grateful that the studio stretched out to her. She also said that she dears the character and the plot, according to Cinema Blend. But for the director, it is a good thing to see the entire scope now than reveal "creative differences" in the future.

Chadwick Boseman will play Wakandan prince and superhero Black Panther. His land is known for the mineral called vibranium, which was used in crafting Captain America's shield and was also used by Ultron in turning himself almost indestructible. Also, fans will see Black Panther in Joe and Anthony Russo's "Captain America: Civil War."

Aside from Boseman, "Captain America: Civil War" stars Paul Bettany, Martin Freeman, Daniel Bruhl, Emily VanCamp, Paul Rudd, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Evans, among others.

DuVernay's "Black Panther" is slated to hit the big screen on July 6, 2018 while "Captain America: Civil War" is set to premiere in theaters on May 6, 2016.
