According to V Jump magazine via Anime News Network, the cartoon's synopsis is that "After defeating Majin Buu, life is peaceful once again. Ordered by Chi-chi to earn money, Goku works even as he wants to train even more. Meanwhile, Goten, about to become a brother-in-law to Videl, sets out on a journey with Trunks to find her a present."

The events in the cartoons will coincide with the events in "Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods" and "Resurrection F" films. The cartoon will also herald two new characters, God of Destruction Beerus and Whis, that first appeared in the movies.

While the cartoon series has no US release date yet, it is almost certain that the anime will be seen by fans worldwide thru various streaming websites.

According to The Verge, series creator Akira Toriyama is in charge of the storyline of "Dragon Ball Super". Dragon Ball is one of the most popular animes back in the days and loyal fans worldwide are hoping to see the new anime.

There seemed to be a trend of bringing back beloved animes of the 90s and giving them a modern storyline. "Sailor Moon Crystal" of the serialized Sailor Moon cartoons premiered last year with an updated plot. The cartoon can be watched on Hulu and Neon Alley for fans to enjoy.
