Also, Motorola's Moto G (2nd Gen) is currently being offered at a discounted rate in India. The smartphone initially launched with a price of Rs. 12,999. While there have been occasional price cuts, this is the first time that the smartphone has had its price permanently decreased. The Moto G (2 Gen) can be grabbed for only Rs. 9,999, which is Rs. 3,000 less the original price of Rs. 12,999 on Flipkart.
Motorola Moto G (2nd Gen) features 5.0-inch HD screen and is powered by Snapdragon 400 series quad-core processor. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box (upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop). The Moto G second generation has a 2,070 mAh battery, 16GB inbuilt memory (expandable up to 32GB) and 1GB RAM. According to the Motorola website, the Moto G 2014 has a 2MP front camera and an 8MP main camera with burst mode, slow motion video, autofocus and LED flash.
Motorola has not given the reason behind the price-cut, however many people believe that the company is preparing stage for the release of the Moto G (2015). It is common practice among mobile manufacturers to cut prices ahead of a new device release.
According to reports, the Moto G (2015) will come packed with a quadcore Snapdragon 410 processor and will run the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. The smartphone has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory.
The Moto G (3rd Gen) will have a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera. It will sport a 5-inch IPS LCD display screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. It is expected that the upcoming device will come with a 3.5mm headset jack and a micro USB port, according to Latino Post.
