With Marvel studio opting out of this year's Comic Con event in San Diego Warner Bros. stepped in to build momentum for the Justice League films especially "Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice."

Adding to the excitement being drummed up by Warner Bros. at the event, the cast and director of "Suicide Squad" made an unexpected appearance to reveal the trailer for the movie, according to Fashion And Style.

In an interview, Warner Bros. President of Worldwide Marketing and International Distribution Sue Kroll told Deadline the studio intended the footage to be a unique experience for Comic Con attendees only.

With the leaked footage being circulated online Kroll told the publication the studio was disappointed and did not want the film to be represented by stolen footage and instead decided to premiere the trailer ahead of its anticipated launch.

Fans who viewed the leaked footage have begun speculating plotlines as the trailer showed clips of Batman's character grappling with the hood of the Joker's car leading to much speculation that the two iconic DC characters will meet an epic encounter if not an indicator of flashbacks in the storyline.

The trailer also features Harley Quinn's character being approached  by Amanda Waller, with scenes of the whole team coming together and Will Smith's character Deadshot who comes up with "Suicide Squad" as the name for the elite task force.

The story revolves around a group of dangerous criminals who are brought in to work on a black ops operation for a government agency.  Based on the DC Comics "Suicide Squad" will hit theatres on Aug. 5 2016.
