Chinese electronics company Xiaomi is rumored to unveil its latest line of flagship smartphone on July 16. Xiaomi teased the entire tech community after a photo of the alleged Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone was posted on the company's official Weibo account.

Four photos were posted and each one has a cryptic PK letters on it. The most interesting of the four is the one that has what appears to be a USB cable connected to a box marked Mi. According to GSM Arena, many speculations claim that this might be a Mi TV smart box or a sign that the company is planning to switch to USB Type-C.

Of all the rumors surrounding Xiaomi's upcoming devices, the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus always came on top. The Xiaomi Mi 5 series is widely held the successor to the Mi Note series of devices.

According to Techno Buffalo, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch Quad HD display with Gorilla Glass 4 for added protection. It will have a 16-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel front facing camera. The device will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with a powerful 3,000 mAh battery.

No words about the Mi 5's RAM but it is most likely to have at least 3GB which is the current standard for high-end devices. As for the Mi 5's operating system, the device is expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop though much of which will be modified to make room for Xiaomi's own MiUI OS.

On the other hand, rumors claim that the Xiaomi Mi 5 Plus will have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, 23-megapixel main camera and a 12-megapixel front facing camera. The device will sport a 3, 5000 mAh battery probably to support the powerful Qualcomm 820 chipset.
