"Great people, great times. #ussindianapolis," Cody wrote the actor to caption the pic in which he can be seen with his co-stars in rugged looking attire.

Although Cody had debuted in the acting world when he helped Universal Pictures to complete "Furious 7" in the wake of his brother's sudden death, "USS Indianapolis" is his first movie in which he has a major role.

"USS Indianapolis" is based on the true incident of 1945, when a US navy ship, with 1196 soldiers on board, sank during WWII, Deadline reported.

Cody will be playing one of the soldiers, who will be left swimming in the sea filled with sharks, without any lifeboat or other survival kit. Cage will be playing the role of Captain Charles McVay, who will be shown struggling to save his men for four days.

The movie will be shown through the perspective of the 11-year-old boy, who will struggle hard to get the Captain posthumously exonerated after he was court-martialed for losing a battle ship, IGN reported. It is expected to hit the theatres over the 2016 Memorial Day weekend.

The movie is likely to touch on one of the most controversial episodes of American naval history, in which out of 1196 men, only close to 350 men known to have survived the ordeal.

Also, Cody is rumored to have joined "Furious 8" althouh he is not likely to play Brian O'Connor but the character's cousin Jack O'Connor.
