Motorola, Microsoft and Xiaomi are among the smartphone manufacturers that offer the best smartphones with a price tag not higher than $200.
With the current smartphone market flooded by different devices from different manufacturers covering a wide scope in terms price range, here is a list of the top three smartphones under the $200 price range:
Motorola Moto E LTE
Republic Wireless recently announced that it will offer the Motorola Moto E LTE for only $129 without contract. The Moto E may not be the best smartphone in the market but its low price tag easily compensates for its mid-tiered specs.
The Moto E runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and has 4.5-inch display. It has a 5-megapixel camera and a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and an Adreno 306 GPU. It has 8GB of storage space which can be expanded via the microSD slot and 1GB of internal memory.
Microsoft Lumia 640XL
A recent price cut from online retailer Expansys has put the Microsoft Lumia 640XL in this list with a price tag of $199. The smartphone from Microsoft runs on the Windows 8.1 platform and will probably support the upcoming Windows 10 operating system once released.
The Lumia 640XL has a 5.7-inch screen display with 720 x 1280 resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset composed of a quad-core Cortex-A7 1.2GHz processor and an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit. The smartphone has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage that can be expanded up to 128GB via the microSD slot.
The Lumia 640 XL has a 13-megapixel main camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera.
Xiaomi Redmi 2
According to Android Headlines, the Xiaomi Redmi 2 is currently priced at around $129.99. The smartphone has a 4.7-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution. The phone run on the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.
The Xiaomi Redmi 2 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset composed of a quad-core Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and an Adreno 306 GPU. It comes in two variants, one model has 8GB storage and 1GB of RAM while the other has 16GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has an 8-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.
