King James, or basketball superstar Lebron James, could possibly be seen again on the silver screen following the production partnership between Warner Bros. and SpringHill Entertainment, the company that LeBron owns.

This early, basketball fans are speculating that the deal would hopefully translate into a "Space Jam 2." The first "Space Jam" movie, shown in 1996, starred Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny. It was a blockbuster and a favorite among sports and animated films fans.

This time, fans wish the sequel would topbill the king himself. LeBron is not new to the movie world since SpringHill, which he established in 2013 with a business partner, produced "Trainwreck" which stars Lebron, reports CNN.

Besides "Trainwreck," he is seen in "Uninterrupted," a video series on athletes available in Bleacher Report' online site, and "Survivor's Remorse," a comedy film for the Starz channel about a young NBA basketballer. LeBron has also done commercials for Nike.

In announcing the tie-up, James said that everything that he has done is "always about connecting with people of all ages and providing unique content they can all enjoy."

The speculations, which LeBron has not commented on, was further fueled by Warner's filing in June a renewal application for its "Space Jam" trademark, reports Time. In February, TV producer Charlie Ebersol was rumored to be the director of "Space Jam 2," according to Deadline. But the basketballer's representative denied the claim.

However, his statement to the South Florida Sun Sentinel is possibly the hint that a sequel is indeed on the way. LeBron was quoted as saying, "I've always loved Space Jam ... It was one of my favorite movies growing up. If I have the opportunity, it will be great."
