The DLC will be dubbed Imperial City and will introduce two new faction, the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. The initial launch will release the content exclusively on PC and Mac while the Xbox One release is scheduled on Sept. 15 and the PlayStation 4 release is slated on Sept. 16.

Imperial City will be the first in a series of the quarterly DLC release planned by the game's developer, ZeniMax Online.

Regarding the DLC's content, the game's publisher, Bethesda Softworks, released a statement on its official blog stating, "The Imperial City, the heart of the Cyrodiilic Empire, has fallen to Daedric Prince Molag Bal and now all three alliances must battle not only Daedric forces, but each other."

When the DLC was introduced at QuakeCon, several new gear, new areas and other details were shown to fans. Additional content includes new player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-play (PvP) dungeons.

"Elder Scrolls Online" was released in April 2014 for the OS X, Windows and Steam platform. The game was later renamed "Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited." The game was released to the PlayStation4 and Xbox One console in June.

According to PCMag, Gamers with "Elder Scrolls Online" Plus subscription can get the Imperial City DLC for free while those without can purchase the game for a one-time price of $20.
