New rumors claimed that the new Apple TV will be released in September coinciding with the upcoming announcement of the new iPhone.
Previous reports stated that Apple TV was originally planned to be released at the 2015 Worldwide Developers Conference but was cancelled at the last minute. The September release also makes it more interesting since Apple usually unveils a new iPhone product at around that time.
The news was first picked up by BuzzFeed News which reported that sources familiar with Apple's plan for the Apple TV revealed the new release schedule. The report added that the new device will sport a new and more powerful A8 chipset from Apple along with a new remote that features a touchpad input. An upgrade in terms of on-board storage was also mentioned.
Improvement in terms of the device's operating system that is rumored to support Siri voice control was also reported. The most interesting of the rumors is that the new Apple TV will have an interface that will finally support App Store.
The introduction of the App Store into the Apple TV means that content providers can finally generate their own content without directly working with Apple which has a massive potential of bringing new contents into the service.
According to 9to5Mac, the new Apple TV will also support the recently launched streaming music service called Apple Music. Additionally, the new device will be released alongside a system development kit that will allow developers to create and develop their own app or software into the device.
Despite numerous upgrades rumored to be integrated into the new Apple TV, many analysts pointed that the device still lacks TV service subscription.
